Easy Video Maker - SugarAlbum
Effective date: October 4, 2026
This policy applies to the Android app Easy Video Maker - SugarAlbum (package name com.sugarmount.sugaralbum), published by simpest under the developer name SugarMount (“we”, “us”). It describes, based on the actual implementation, what data the app handles and what it does not.
1. Summary
| Data | How it is handled | Processed by |
|---|---|---|
| Photos, videos and the videos you make | Processed on your device only. Never uploaded. | Your device |
| Photo analysis results (date taken, quality, face positions, etc.) | Calculated and stored on your device only to compose scenes. Never sent. | Your device |
| Advertising data (device identifiers, advertising ID, etc.) | May be collected by the Google AdMob SDK under Google's policies. | |
| Usage stats (app usage events, device information) | Collected automatically by Firebase / Google Analytics. | Google (Firebase) |
| Remote config lookups and push notification token | The app contacts Firebase Remote Config for notices and version info, and Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications. | Google (Firebase) |
| Account information | Not collected. The app has no accounts. | — |
| Payment details | Not collected. The app has no in-app purchases. | — |
2. Photos, videos and making videos
- The app reads the list of photos and videos on your device so you can choose what goes into a video. For this it asks for photo and video access (see section 3). On Android 14 and later you can allow access to selected photos only.
- Choosing scenes, applying effects and themes, mixing background music, encoding and previewing all happen on your device. Your photos, videos, the videos you make and file names are never sent to our servers or to any third party. We do not operate a server for this app.
- To build more natural scenes, the app analyzes information such as the date taken, orientation and resolution of the photos you choose, and their image quality, on your device. On some supported devices it may detect where faces are in a photo (eye and mouth positions) to adjust zoom and framing. These results are kept only on your device and are not used to identify anyone or sent anywhere.
- Background music comes from tracks bundled with the app. The app does not request microphone or camera permission and does not record audio or take pictures.
- Original photos and videos are never modified or deleted. The videos you make are saved as new files in your device's Movies/SugarAlbum folder.
- When you tap Share, the video is handed through the Android share sheet to the app you pick. What happens next follows that app's policy.
3. Permissions
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Photo and video access (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on Android 12L and earlier) | To let you choose and read the photos and videos that go into a video. |
| Storage write (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) | Declared by the video engine library. Used on Android 10 and earlier to save the videos you make to device storage. |
| Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) | To show progress while a video is made and saved, and app notices. You can still use the app if you decline. |
| Foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE with media processing, data sync and short service types), WAKE_LOCK | So that making and saving a video does not stop when you leave the screen. |
| Internet and network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE) | For ads, usage stats, remote config (notices and version info) and push notifications. Never used to send your photos or videos. |
| Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) | Lets Google AdMob and Google Analytics read the advertising ID (see sections 4 and 5). |
| Android ad privacy APIs (ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS) | Declared automatically by the Google Mobile Ads SDK. On devices that support these APIs, they may be used for ad topics (Topics) and ad measurement (Attribution) (see section 4). |
| Google Play services integration (com.google.android.c2dm.permission.RECEIVE, BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE) | Declared automatically by the Firebase SDKs. Used to receive push notifications and for Google Analytics to read the install referrer. |
| Other system permissions (DISABLE_KEYGUARD, BROADCAST_STICKY, SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, MEDIA_CONTENT_CONTROL) | Declarations carried over from the earlier video engine. They are not used to collect personal data. |
The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone or call log permissions.
4. Ads
The app shows banner, interstitial, native and app open ads through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve ads and prevent abuse, the ad SDK may collect and process the following under Google's policies:
- Device identifiers and the advertising ID
- IP address (which may be used to estimate the device's approximate location)
- Interactions with ads (impressions, clicks) and app usage information
- Diagnostic information (ad SDK performance and errors)
- On devices that support the Android ad privacy APIs, ad topics (Topics) and ad measurement (Attribution) signals
- Other items listed in the Google Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure
This data is collected and processed by Google; we do not access it directly. Please refer to Google's documentation for the exact items and purposes.
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
- Google Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure
Ad privacy choices
- The current version has no separate in-app ad consent screen or ad settings menu.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings under Google > Ads. Once deleted, it is no longer used for personalized ads.
- You can turn off personalized ads in My Ad Center for your Google Account.
5. Usage stats, remote config and push notifications (Firebase)
The app uses Google's Firebase services. None of them ever receive your photos, videos, file names or photo analysis results.
- Usage stats (Firebase / Google Analytics)
- Sends automatically collected events such as app opens and screen use, together with device information (model, OS version, app version, language, approximate country or region, etc.), the install referrer, an app instance ID and the advertising ID. We use this to improve the app and understand how it is used. The current version has no in-app setting to turn this off.
- Remote config (Firebase Remote Config)
- When the app starts, it fetches the latest version info and notice and FAQ content. Technical information such as the Firebase installation ID and app version is sent to Google in the process. Fetched notices are stored on your device.
- Push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
- To allow notices to be sent, a notification token is created for each device and registered with Google. We do not collect these tokens on a server of our own. If you decline the notification permission or turn off the app's notifications in Android Settings, notifications are not shown.
6. Accounts and payments
The app does not create accounts or require sign-in. Because we hold no user accounts, there is no separate account deletion feature. The app has no in-app purchases.
7. Service providers and international transfers
We do not sell or provide your personal data to third parties. To show ads and run the app, however, we use the services below, and some information is transferred outside Korea in the process.

If you do not want these transfers, please uninstall the app. Ads and usage stats are part of how the app runs and cannot be switched off separately in the app.
8. Retention and deletion
| Data | Retention | How to delete |
|---|---|---|
| Photo analysis results, video composition data, fetched notices, app settings | Stored only on your device. If Android backup is on, they may be included in your Google Account backup. | Deleted when you clear the app's data in Android Settings or uninstall the app. |
